wherever you are on your creative journey ... i'll meet you there ...

Wherever you are on your personal & professional journey… I’ll meet you there with compassion and support. I offer a unique approach to creativity coaching infused with a blend of elements that I’ve synthesized over the years:

  • Creativity flows within all of us — an essential life force. I invite you to explore how creative expression is intertwined with your life path, whether it is the path itself, a hobby, a desire, or an ability forgotten long ago. You don’t need to call yourself an artist, and any creative medium is welcome — visuals, sound, movement, words, numbers, food, plants, humor, games, something else. We are simply using it as a way to connect within. Creativity is a powerful resource for reflection and growth that you can tap into any time.

“But I don’t have a creative bone in my body!”

I can also help you remember your intrinsic creativity if you feel lost. Through conversation and experiments we’ll discover an expression that resonates with you.

Mindful acts of creative expression can be an amazing way to deepen into your inner world. Being present in your own experience is a powerful yet fleeting thing! If we can tune in “live” to our somatic, emotional, and thinking responses — we can gently gain insight into that which is protected or hidden within. Gently is key here, to respect your system and your pace.

  • Creative use of analogy can be a playful yet informative way to develop new connections and insights! Analogies are a way to understand something new in terms of something familiar. It involves mapping information or meaning from the familiar source onto the new or less familiar target. We do this so naturally that we don’t even realize it, and it’s considered to be the core of cognition. Analogies permeate our language in the form of words, idioms, and metaphors.

Our world provides an endless supply of analogies that help us gain perspective on our human experience.

The concept of a Journey, of traveling a path, is one of the most ancient and enduring sources of analogy in human history. It’s ubiquitous because it’s so relatable. As an analogy, the Journey is also a practical way to map out your life. It becomes rich with layered meaning as you explore aspects of your experience including sensory, spatial, temporal, and relational.

This is why my offerings are structured around a Journey. We’ll start there and also explore any other analogies that emerge and resonate as we work together, to create useful frameworks for goals and meaning-making.

  • Hakomi is a beautifully gentle and human method of psychotherapy. Certain aspects of the method can enhance the creativitycoaching process also, without diving into therapy territory. This is important to clarify!

I have a foundational training in integrating the Hakomi Principles & Method within a coaching framework, and I’m planning to continue my education with a comprehensive training. I have a deep respect for the method, and aim to honor and uphold its principles in my work and life:

    • mindfulnes • organicity • unity • non-violence • mind-body integration • loving presence •

  • Coaching is a collaborative process. Although my offerings have a structure, or a story arc in a sense, we don’t need to force anything that doesn’t resonate. Our work together is about your journey and I simply serve as a guide — we’ll check in continually to ensure that the pacing, framework, and goals are supportive. Session exercises/explorations and suggested references, tools, daily practices will be tailored to your expressed goals, and are an invitation to deepen into the work on your own terms.

  • I patiently untangle the complexities of thought and experience into essential strands, and weave them into useful narratives that are coherent, poetic, and meaningful — for myself and for others. It’s both an artistic and professional skill.

There’s a Superpowers card deck by SY Partners that calls this skill Complexity Busting … I also think of it simply as diagramming (which I consider an art form). Diagramming began as a deliberate act two decades ago, but has become a way of life — a perpetual dialogue between analysis and synthesis, expertise and intuition, art and technology. It’s how I make sense of the world, expressed in drawings, graphics, sculptures.

I’m an artist, designer, architect, teacher, guide, empath … [ learn more ]

I’ve structured my offerings around aspects of a Journey, with single and multi-session themes that acknowledge where you are. Each offering is a framework that we collaboratively adapt to your specific goals, desires, and situation. We’ll do exercises in each session that you can take with you as “artifacts” to remember and reference. I’ll also offer relevant daily practices, practical tools, and creative sparks.

  1. start with a consultation (‘the overlook’ session)

  2. book a single or multi-session theme that resonates with you (I can help you decide)

  3. continue your work with another theme; or

  4. schedule ‘walking the path’ sessions as-needed for continued support in any area
