Wow, I can’t believe you got to see the Beastie Boys play in … IN … the McCarren Park Pool! Epic.

Right?! Can you believe it was their first-ever concert in Brooklyn? Definitely ranks top of my top-five favorite shows, along with:

  • Peter Gabriel & Sting @ Hollywood Bowl (diagram in here somewhere)

  • David Gilmour @ Hollywood Bowl

  • Lynyrd Skynyrd @ Walnut Creek (blew the Allman’s out of the water, unbelievable)

  • Guns n’ Roses @ Dodger Stadium

  • Kasabian @ Fonda & Wiltern

  • Phish @ Reynolds Coliseum

  • JRAD @ Red Rocks

(wanders off muttering) … remember when Rush had the rotisserie chickens cooking onstage! what was that one where musicians played Beck’s sheet music album alternating with poetry readings? oh and Kraftwerk was cool … Arctic Monkeys, Dan Deacon, Art Brut, Clutch, Cosmic Charlie, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Dark Star Orchestra … so many great venues too … sigh, I miss Salvage Station already
